There was some trouble opening my syllabus on my e-portfolio as a document. I put another hyperlink for it as a pdf. Clink on the link:

  1. Wow Heidi, I love it! Very professional, did you get a summer job at CSUSB? Your course looks ready to teach...I just had an epiphany, this would be an excellent way to offer professional development in your district (also extra money)!
Thank you for sharing your excellent work!

  2. First of all thank you for redoing your link. I was happy that I could go and view your hard work. I am totally with Kenny on the statement that this would be an excellent way for districts to go with professional development. Many years ago we had a major staff development program in our district. Teachers in the district taught the classes and other teachers were able to take inexpensive classes in areas of interest to them or to the district. Now that technology is such a big part of our lives it would be good to offer classes like the one you have written here. Your design looks great and imagine if your staff could learn this information on their time, especially in the summer when they can sit outside and drink coffee while learning from you those things that will help make them better teachers next year. You just might be on the cutting edge for training in the future. Good luck with your training and have a great summer. As a side, I am adding first and second grade programs to my website this summer to help out a friend who will be doing a combination class next year. Check it out. Kathy

  3. I agree with Kathy and Kenny, this is a great syllabus. It is comprehensive and leaves no room for guessing. It is clear and professional in apprearance. The content is laid out well. It is evident you put a lot of thought and effort into this document. I began rearranging furniture yesterday to set up my new home office. I wish I could take this class to enable me to make the most of my new technology.

  4. Nice work as usual. I took a brief look at the InterWrite software online. It seems to be very user friendly and a fairly efficient means of creating and documenting lecture material on the fly. I'm curious to know how expansive the program is. That's cool that your husband is in the music business. What kind of work does he do? It's been great corresponding with you in this class. Hopefully we'll have some more together.

  5. Thanks for your comments Kathy, Donna, and Nate. I'm pretty passionate about InterWrite because I've seen the effects of it in the classroom. There are trainings in our district for the software and hardware, but how great would it be to bring it online wherein teachers could just take it to get great ideas and become better users of InterWrite. They wouldn't have to go into the district office and could just enjoy the course in the leisure of their home!

Nate, my husband is a dj and has been for quite some time now. He is always putting together his mixes for the radio locally, nationally, and internationally. I'm not really sure what he does, but I always see a lot of green sound waves on the computer screen.
